Wild Women Hawai'i was organized to unite women for mutual support, empowerment, and sisterhood in a non-judgmental, safe space.
Founder & Facilitator Michelle Gallagher Escobar
After 30 years of living in Hilo on the Big Island of Hawai'i, I believe an authentic women's support system is desperately needed, where women can put down their guards and honor both the light and shadowy sides of themselves without fear of rejection or judgment. Wild Women Hawai'i retreats are designed for all women of all ages although the vast majority who attend our retreats are in midlife (~35-65) with a healthy (and welcome) scattering of younger women and wild women crones. I believe in the value of a multigenerational group of women gathering and sharing their stories. All are welcome. Most women who attend our retreats are also Kamaʻāina (or residents of Hawai'i) but women from all over the world are welcome to become cherished wild sisters. I am dedicated to doing my part in bringing positive change for the well-being of women in my community and for women everywhere who would like to become part of our movement. We tend to be down to earth and our retreats reflect that, so you will likely feel right at home.
-Michelle
Michelle organizes and facilitates retreats that invite women to be their natural selves alongside other women doing the same. Our chosen retreat spaces take place in nature: in the forest, the ocean, or rainforest, or where we can be outside and experience the original and healing meaning of the word "wild".
Sowing the Seeds of a Wild Sisterhood Movement
At our retreats, we believe in the power of authentic belonging. We celebrate diversity and encourage each individual to share her unique experiences and perspectives. Our community values mutual respect, support, and understanding, creating a sisterhood where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. Whether you’re a newcomer or a returning sister, you can find genuine acceptance and a sense of belonging within our sisterhood retreat. We collectively initiate a judgment-free zone where we support one another. When you attend our retreats, you expand your roots and become an important part of a global sisterhood of wild women.
We realize women's essential need for sisterhood, wellness, and connection is not limited to Hawai'i alone. Whether you're from Hawai'i or beyond, our doors are open to all women who share our purpose and understanding that our retreats are not designed for exploration of the island. Instead, we settle into one amazing natural location and sink into ourselves for the entire event. Read more on our "About" and "FAQ" pages. Join us if you feel drawn to our purpose and want to join our circle of like-hearted women.
